Dive Into Utah's Homestead Crater with Your Citizen Watch
The Homestead Crater that is located in Midway, UT, is a very unusual diving destination as it is one of the few places you will ever have to go up to dive, as it is located at an elevation of 7,050-feet.
Nature has made a 55-foot tall beehive-shaped limestone rock that has filled over time with filled with 90° to 96° of water. The only warm water scuba diving destination in the United States is the Homestead Crater.
A great watch to wear while you dive this area is a Citizen Divemaster Watch. Wrapped up in one terrific titanium package is a wetsuit strap extension - because of the warm waters no wetsuit is needed - the screw down crown allows for easy movement of the wrist and this watch is self winding with an automatic movement so no battery is ever required. The 6mm thick watch crystal is scratch resistant and built to last and a brilliant addition lacking in many other dive watches is the detachable bezel for ease in cleaning. You won't need to put the water resistance of this watch to the test at Homestead Crater as it is only 65-feet deep, but your Citizen Divemaster can go down to 1,000-meters.
Homestead Crater is a deep blue in color and it is a natural hot spring. Most days, visibility on a dive goes to about 45-feet and to avoid stirring up the heavy layer of silt, most divers are asked not to dive past the point of visibility. If you have an underwater camera, this is most definitely a dive worth capturing in pictures. If you want a great watch to take on this dive, look towards the Citizen Divemaster.
