Basic Watch Care
No matter if your watch is a Seiko, Casio, Timex or Oakley; the care for your wrist watch will be basically the same.
When you wear your watch, only expose your watch to moist conditions or water if you know your watch is water resistant or waterproof. There are variations to water resistance. Extremes in temperature can cause some watches without water resistance to have a clouded crystal from moisture. Most watches made today have a rubber gasket that prevents this previously very common occurrence from happening. If your watch has a metal bracelet, wear it a little loose so you do not over stretch it. When you're not wearing your watch, keep it in its case or in a jewelry box.
If you want to clean your watch. Just use a soft cloth or a microfiber towel rather than a paper towel or tissue, both of which can be abrasive to watch crystals and the metal used to construct your watch. Water resistant straps should be washed in a mild soap and water solution after using for surfing or swimming in ocean water as the salt can break down the plastic. A simple cleaning and rinsing will do the trick to keep that from happening.
When your watch needs servicing, take it to an authorized local dealer for any repairs or work you want done. This will ensure that your warranty stays in place on your purchase. All watches have a manufacturer's guarantee which starts from the purchase date. The length of the cover varies, so please read your guarantee to make sure you know exactly what yours covers. As Watches Giant is an authorized dealer for every watch they sell, you get the same guarantee as if you purchased the watch directly from the manufacturer.
