Watch Case Materials
Watches come in many different styles and designs and the case materials are very important to the overall look of the watch. If you are looking to buy a watch then you might want to go into it already knowing what you want your watch to be made out of. There are so many choices out there for watch cases that it can get a bit overwhelming for the person that doesn't already have an idea of what they want. The easiest way to go about choosing is to do research. You can either get on the internet or get out and go to some stores and take a look at all that is being offered.
Watch case materials can vary from plastic to metal to precious metals all the way up to diamonds and all the way down to rubber. All of these different materials come with different price tags of course. If you are looking for a watch that is on the more frugal side then you want to choose rubber or plastic or even a cheap metal. For the consumer that can and wants a more expensive watch then you can try gold or even diamonds. The good news is that there is so much variety that anyone can find something they like for just about any price.
The best way to determine what case material you are going to like for your watch is to look at different watches and to even go out and try them on. Sometimes what you might actually like in looks you might not like for comfort value. Some people find leather or plastic more comfortable than metal. Again it is all in your tastes and in the size of your wallet.

Watch Crystals
When you are choosing a watch the watch crystal can be something that you might want to consider. The more experienced watch owner will probably be more interested in this feature. Most average people don't even think about it and indeed you don't really have much of a choice in the lower priced watches. The watch crystal is the face plate on the watch, what you actually see the time through. So now you know just in case you didn't before.
Most of the time the watch crystal is made out of sapphire. This is not the sapphire you are thinking of, it is a synthetic material which is extremely hard. Sometimes watch crystals can also be made out of mineral glass which is glass that has been specially coated to make it more scratch resistant. The very cheap watches use acrylic plastic and this is of a concern as it scratches very easily and it won't take long for your watch to look awful if you are not careful with it.
If watch crystals are something that you are concerned about then you might also want to consider that some watches have crystals that are coated to help lessen reflections. This is great if you are not too big on getting a glare off of your watch. Some watches that have a mechanical movement also have a crystal on the back so that you can see the movement. There are a lot of people who like this feature. Again, it all comes down to individual tastes and what you like.

Watch Style And Design
There are so many watches that are out there to choose from these days that it can make a consumer go crazy! It seems that it would be great to know that you have so many choices and options available to you but sometimes it can just make things a bit overwhelming. This is especially true when you think that most people want to get the absolute most that they can for the least amount of money. So that makes the decisions all the more difficult as there are literally thousands of watch styles and designs to choose from.
One of the easiest things that someone can do is to have a few different watches for all kinds of occasion. For instance, you might want to have a watch for everyday, one that is for when you are working out or for any sports you might do. Lastly you might also want to have a separate dress watch that you only use for when you are going out or for special occasions. That is usually the easiest way to go.
However, if you don't have a lot of money and you need to be a bit more basic, well then, the best choice might be to go for the most versatile watch that you can afford. There are a great many sports watches out there that have a lot of good features and are fairly reasonable price wise. Some of these sports watches can also pass off very well for dressy occasions. The educated consumer is a great thing. That means that you should spend a bit of time researching different brands and styles of watches. Choosing a Watch
Your sense of style is what is important when you are trying to find the perfect watch. One definitely needs to be seen looking good, and that is one of the things that a good watch can do for you. It helps to make you look good. Of course function and features are important as well but if you plain don't like the way that a watch looks, well then, nothing else is going to matter, right?
Once you have determined a bit about the basics of how you want your watch to look you can start choosing features in that category. For instance, if you want a sports watch look then you start choosing in that style. Figuring out what features you want is easy enough. When you start doing a bit of research you might discover that there are features out there that you didn't know about but might like.
Some important features to choose among are: waterproof, digital, face illumination, alarms, calendars, etc. You can get a watch that is pretty decked out in a lot of features. However, it is best to get one that only has the items that you want. It isn't good to get too overwhelmed with too much information, especially if it is on features that you arent ever going to use. Plus keeping it simple is also easier on your pocketbook.
That brings to account another part of choosing a watch that is equally important as all the other things mentioned so far in this article, price. You obviously need to make sure that you choose a watch that is within your budget. The good news is that there are so many choices out there that you won't be able to go wrong. There is a great watch for anyone and everyone's taste and budget!

Watch Band Choices - Bracelet or Strap?
Watch Band Choices - Bracelet or Strap?
One of the choices that you have for a watch is whether you want to get one that is considered a bracelet or if you want the more traditional watch that has a strap. Of course a watch has to be a bracelet style or have a strap to be considered a wristwatch, or else it would be a pocket watch. If the watch is made from basically the same parts for the attachment and the case and they are linked together then it is considered a bracelet. However, if the material is different or if it is made of rubber or leather, etc, it has a strap and is considered a regular wristwatch. These are all pretty easy to distinguish just by looking at them.
Now in deciding which style that you want it usually comes down to your taste. If you like one but absolutely hate the other then you aren't going to get the one you hate. Why would you? Many people prefer the bracelet style for dressy occasion, although it can be worn for casual as well. The thing about the regular wristwatch is that the strap can be replaced. This is a good thing if you like to have a variety of style changes, or even for if the strap just wears out. It is easier to replace a strap, cheaper too, than a whole watch. The fact that the strap doesn't have to match the case is good as well. The strap should complement the case. This helps in giving the consumer more variety as well.
So basically the question of whether you should choose a bracelet watch or a traditional strap type wristwatch comes down to what you prefer. If you like one style over the other than go with that. If you can't decide and you like both, well then go for it and get both. With so many brands and styles to choose from any consumer can find both styles in a price range that he or she can afford.
